Life Safety Services, the National leader in fire and smoke damper inspection and repair, is a corporate sponsor for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) annual “Light the Night Walk” this year in Louisville, Kentucky.
The “Light the Night Walk” is a one mile walk and charity event in which the Nation pays homage to those currently battling and to those who have lost the battle to Leukemia and Lymphoma. Driven by their firm belief in helping the community and the ability to make a difference in such a cause, Life Safety Services has officially offered their assistance in the form of a sponsorship for the “Light the Night Walk.” “This is our opportunity to give back to our community and help raise money for a cause that our company believes in, said Craig Rutledge, owner of Life Safety Services. “This year the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society faces a difficult task in raising money for research in this poor economy. They need the support of businesses now more than ever”, said Rutledge.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society funds research that contributes to advances in the treatment of blood cancers. The Charity has raised over $600 million since its first funding in 1954 (www.leukemia-lymphoma.org). Life Safety Service’s decision to participate in the “Light the Night Walk” was hugely driven by their involvement with hospitals nationwide. “We do a lot of work in hospitals across the nation and unfortunately come face to face with those battling diseases like Leukemia & Lymphoma everyday – to see the struggle of these individuals made me want to get involved”, said Rutledge. “This is the first of many initiatives we have to give back to our community and to medical research. We are thankful that we are able to support an organization such as LLS and encourage our colleagues, friends and family to do the same.” You can donate to Life Safety Services mission to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma society online by visiting http://pages.lightthenight.org/ky/Louisvil09/LifeSafetyServices.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 24, 2009) – Life Safety Services, the National leader in fire and smoke damper inspections and repairs, recently applied for the International Facility Management Association’s (IFMA) Request for the Assignment of CFM Maintenance Points and was approved on July 15, 2009.
The program submitted for review, “Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections: Is Your Building in Compliance?” is a one hour lecture-style presentation given by the owner of Life Safety Services, Craig Rutledge, and is worth 1.0 Certified Facility Manager (CFM) Maintenance Point. The CFM Certification Program by IFMA is a way for Facility Managers to further their education in the field of Facility Management through a certification process and has been deemed “the most respected global credential in facility management” by IFMA.
“This is quite an honor for us”, said Rutledge. “To be recognized as a source of education by an organization as well-know and well thought of as IFMA is a great achievement for us”. Further commenting on this achievement, Judy Shission, Business Development Manager at Life Safety Services said, “The wealth of knowledge Facility Manager’s must have these days is enormous. Any help we can offer in furthering their education and providing them with the tools they need to better do their jobs is one of our top priorities, “said Shission. “We’ve put a lot of resources into education this year as one of our top marketing strategies. Our presentation will ultimately assist IFMA in better educating today’s Facility Mangers on Passive Fire Protection Inspections.”
Life Safety Services has traveled throughout the United States this year speaking at several IFMA Chapters in regards to damper inspections. Now that their presentation is worth CFM Maintenance Points, they expect to spend more time on the road visiting and getting to know the different Chapters across the Nation. “This is really our opportunity to get the word out that we are the expert and that makes us, as a company, very proud”, said Rutledge.
