LOUISVILLE, Ky. (September 28, 2010) – Life Safety Services (LSS), the industry leader in Passive Fire Protection Inspection Services, is proud to announce that Andrew Harris, a Fire Door Inspection Technician for the company, recently passed the Door and Hardware Institute’s prestigious Fire Door Assembly Inspection Program (FDAI) exam. Upon completion of the FDAI program, fire door professionals are thoroughly trained to evaluate door assemblies.

This not only helps LSS establish great credibility as our role as leader in passive fire protection inspection services, but it also allows Andrew the ability to advance his career in the field and fine tune his expertise in the industry ,“ said Garry Cronin, Vice President of Operations for Life Safety Services. “ The FDAI Program is not an easy course and not just anyone can pass the exams”, said Cronin. “It takes someone with strong experience in the door and hardware industry and a strong passion to succeed to make it through the course. We are very proud of Andrew for this accomplishment”.
The Door and Hardware Institute (DHI)’s FDAI Program provides students with the door, frame and hardware training that are needed in order to perform accurate and thorough fire door inspections. The program typically takes about a week of in-class training with an emphasis on the code that requires the annual inspection of fire doors, NFPA 80. DHI has partnered with Intertek / Warnock Hersey to offer an additional certification as part of this program, Andrew Harris will be completing in the near future. “I’m very happy that I can lend my knowledge of the door industry to Life Safety Services. I’m excited about being able to directly contribute to their mission of ensuring compliance with NFPA’s Life Safety Code”, said Harris.
