LOUISVILLE, Ky. (August 23, 2010) – Life Safety Services, the industry leader in passive fire protection inspection services, announced today that the company was named to the Inc.5000 list, Inc. magazine’s exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. The list represents the most comprehensive look at the most important segment of the economy – America’s independent-minded entrepreneurs. This is Life Safety Services’ second consecutive year on the list.

The Inc. 5000 is ranked according to revenue growth from 2006 through 2009 and each company must be able to show four full calendar years of sales. Additionally, they have to be U.S. –based, privately held, for profit and independent. Revenue in 2009 must have been at least $2 million.
Judy Shission, the Business Development Manager for the company says the company owes this accomplishment to the receptivity of the company’s management to enveloping change and growth. “I am extremely fortunate to be employed by such an innovative company that is constantly searching for new business strategies and development. “, she said. “The success of Life Safety Services is defined by the “out-of-the-box” thinking and creative marketing ideas of the Life Safety Team.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (March 12, 2010) – Life Safety Services (LSS), the National leader in fire and smoke damper inspection services and repair, announced today that they will expand their service offerings to include the annual inspection of Fire Doors.

“Fire-rated doors are an important part of a building’s passive fire-protection system,” said Jack Merideth, Vice President of Production for Life Safety Services. “There are very stringent guidelines enforced by the National Fire Protection Association that has led Facility Managers and Engineers to seek qualified contractors to perform these inspections. Fire Doors are complicated – there are a lot of components that can fail which will ultimately compromise a building’s Fire Protection System. These inspections require an expert in the field”, said Merideth.

Fire Door inspections are required by NFPA Code, specifically NFPA 101 and NFPA 80 which encompasses eleven major inspection points. Life Safety Services’ contractors have experience in over 1,500 commercial facilities throughout the United States and Canada and recently opened a branch in the United Kingdom. “LSS’ techs have thorough knowledge of the fire codes that require the inspection of fire doors, “said Meredith. “LSS’ technicians have also completed extensive classroom training by door and hardware industry experts – our clients can be sure they are the best contractors in the business.”

As with Fire and Smoke Damper Inspections, the NFPA also requires written documentation that the Fire Door Inspections have been completed and the report is to be made available to Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ’s) on demand. Life Safety Services offers the most thorough report in the business, complete with digital documentation, project statistics and detailed inventory.

LOUISVILLE, KY. (November 3, 2009) - Life Safety Services, a National provider of fire and smoke Damper inspections, has been awarded a position on Business First’s “Fast Fifty” list for the second consecutive year. The “Fast Fifty” is an award that honors the fifty fastest-growing independent and privately held companies in the Greater Louisville area. The Fast 50 companies must be independent, for-profit and privately held while having an average of at least $1 million in revenue for the three most recent years.

“Making the Fast 50 list for the second year in a row really strengthens our belief that our business model is effective,” said Lori Wood, the Director of Marketing for Life Safety Services. “We were number four on the list last year and are number sixteen this year – to achieve such growth two years in a row in this economy is quite an accomplishment for us. Receiving this honor on the heels of our ranking on the Inc. 5000 last month really is the icing on the cake for us”, said Wood.

While Life Safety Services anticipates 2010 to be another difficult year economically, they are still excited about the prospect of growth moving forward and look forward to expanding their geographic footprint and service offerings. “We anticipate our sales numbers to continue to increase in 2010 as we continue to strengthen the industry through education and continued support by State Fire Marshals for our services, “said Judy Shission, Business Development Manager for Life Safety Services. “We will also continue to expand our service area in 2010 to ensure that not only the Unities States but other countries who have adopted NFPA’s Life Safety Code are in compliance with NFPA 80 and 105.”

Life Safety Services specializes in the inspection and repair of fire and smoke dampers in commercial facilities in all fifty (50) states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Mexico, and has recently pursued projects in Europe. Considered a leader in the Fire Safety Industry, Life Safety Services’ has made a commitment to Commercial Facilities to provide specialized fire and smoke damper inspections of the highest quality to ensure compliance with NFPA’s critical Life Safety Code®. For more information visit lifesafetyservices.com.
