LSS Life Safety Services® offers the installation of photoluminescent egress marking systems (PLES) and photolum exit signs for compliance with the 2009 Edition of the International Building Code (IBC) and the International Fire Code (IFC). The 2009 International Building Code Section 1024 and International Fire Code Section 4604.23 mandates that all non-residential buildings, both new and existing, over 75 feet in height must install Photoluminescent Exit Path Markings in all enclosed emergency stairwells. Code requirements consist of markings on handrails, stair treads & landings, demarcation lines, exit door marking & direction signage and obstruction markings.
